Through my work, I hope to communicate the feelings, both those physical such as the harsh cold of winter, and the emotional such as the joy of rebirth in spring, of the seasons. I hope to convey these feelings effectively enough that the viewers get an idea of my feeling for each season. Hopefully the viewers will walk away giving the seasons another bout of thinking on.

When it comes to the seasons, my interests are great. In the summer I get to go out and cook on the grill, play in the pool, when there is one available, and my favorite, go to the beach and enjoy the sun and sand. In the fall, I will admit I am still a child at heart for I will still run to jump into a pile of leaves, I enjoy the cool (but not cold) and crisp refreshing air, and the changing of the colors on the trees. In the winter, I enjoy the rejuvenating cold, the snow when it comes, the holiday associated with it, Christmas, and much much more. Then finally, in spring, I enjoy the revival of nature, the rebirth of the plants, new growth, animals coming back from where they went for the winter, whether it be from migrating, or hibernation.

Hopefully my model did a good job portraying these ideas. Shivering in the cold, wearing a heavy jacket. Or in a swimsuit ready to run to the pool. Or, for spring, holding a bouquet of flowers to represent the rebirth of nature that comes about during the season.

  1. There are strong and less-than-strong images intermingled here. We mentioned that in class. I really think these would have benefited greatly from some smart decision-making; specifically editing out the images that just aren't working and hanging on to the good ones. If you were to limit the images to 2 per season, you could eliminate most of the problematic images. That aside, I applaud your adventurous approach to these and what you managed to accomplish given your time constraints.
